Project-Based Learning

Explore these kinesthetic learning opportunities that will engage your students!

Kinematics Unit

Rocket Project

This project is adapted from an amazing NASA project. I’ve provided students instructional time to build and modify their rockets.

I included the accounting layer to restrict the amount of DUCT TAPE kids used on their rockets!

Forces & Newton's Laws Unit

Friction Project

I developed this project as a research-focused, creative challenge for my students. They love selecting their own vehicles to research, and devising a product to communicate their learning.

Work & Energy Unit

Rollercoaster Project

This creative project is a summative assessment that maximizes student choice.

Past students have used MineCraft to create their final project!

Catapult Project

This is the challenge of the year. Constructed outside of class, time management is probably the biggest learning opportunity.

Incorporating a second launch sounds exhausting and time consuming, but it fosters student motivation and ecourages critical problem-solving.

Rube Goldberg Machine

This is not a simple machine to construct – and the catch is that students must analyze different sections of the machine to demonstrate their learning in the course!
